NIEVE ELLA RETURNS WITH NEW SINGLE DRIVE OUT NOW

There’s a sense of forward motion running through everything Nieve Ella does. Her new single ‘Drive’ is swaggering, playful, and quietly self-assured, marking the first step into a new era for one of the UK’s most compelling young indie voices. Announced with a run of intimate UK shows that sold out in ten minutes, the single captures Ella at a moment of instinct: less overthinking, more movement, and a growing confidence in simply following where the music takes her.

“It was so out of my comfort zone and I needed it,” Nieve Ella says. In many ways, that sense of freedom sits at the heart of 'Drive.' It’s the sound of Nieve Ella stepping more fully into her agency and trusting instinct, embracing ambition, and allowing herself to move forward without waiting for permission. Where her earlier songs wrestled with uncertainty, ‘Drive’ captures the moment of choosing yourself anyway. It’s a sentiment that runs strong through the upcoming new music that Ella is currently working on. "I wrote Drive seeking independence and relief from the emotional ties and pressure I feel, using driving as a metaphor for taking control of my life and escaping that feeling of being held back. It speaks about my feelings of freedom and self-belief, and the conflict between maintaining companionship and prioritising myself and the life I am building."

Nieve Ella continues to emerge as a vital voice for a generation navigating adulthood in real time, and 'Drive' feels like the moment she presses the accelerator. Not a reinvention, but a release that’s a little looser, a little louder, and with much, much more still on the road ahead. “At the end of the day,” she says, “I want to be a star. And I’m not scared to say that anymore.”
