Nieve Ella releases her highly anticipated debut album ‘How Long Will It Take?’ via Artist Theory, a bold, emotionally charged and gloriously unpredictable introduction to the inner workings of the 23-year-old songwriter's mind. Moving between defiance and vulnerability, self-assurance and self-sabotage, it's a debut that embraces the messiness of growing up and the uncomfortable reality that becoming the person you want to be is rarely a straightforward journey.

At its heart is a question Nieve has found herself returning to again and again:how long will it take? To change, to feel settled, to finally reach whatever it is you're working towards. Throughout the album's creation, she kept coming back to the image of an endless staircase, a metaphor for the constant pressure to keep climbing towards some imagined version of success or happiness, without ever knowing where the top might be. It's an idea that runs through the record, capturing both the exhaustion and the strange optimism of finding yourself somewhere between who you are and who you hope to become.
Across ‘How Long Will It Take?’, produced by Jamie Rendle with additional production from Matias Tellez, Nieve pushes beyond the guitar-driven indie rock that first introduced her to audiences, creating a restless, shape-shifting world of alternative pop, grunge, electronics and soaring rock melodies. Its constantly changing dynamics mirror what she describes as her “creatively chaotic brain”, moving between flashes of defiance and moments of startling vulnerability. Rather than presenting a more polished version of herself, Nieve leans into the mess, confronting her own insecurities, self-sabotaging tendencies and the complicated ways we love, hurt and misunderstand one another.

To celebrate the release of ‘How Long Will It Take?’ Nieve is heading out on a run of intimate in-store performances across the UK, visiting Edinburgh, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Bury, London, Southampton and Brighton. The shows offer fans an opportunity to experience the album up close, before she takes the album on the road for her biggestUK and European tour in April, 2027.
Nieve doesn't pretend to have figured it all out, and perhaps that's what makes her debut feel so affecting. There is something quietly reassuring in hearing someone admit they're still searching, still stumbling, still becoming.
